Subjects...

English Language Arts

Our district utilizes the HMH Into Reading curriculum along with a variety of other great literacy resources and texts.  Students will explore a combination of fiction and non fiction texts.

Mathematics

We use the Envisions math program along with select supplemental math resources including, but not limited to, various modules from Engage NY.

Science

Students will be immersed in a variety of Science topics throughout the year.  We will have a designated time for Science as well as exposure to Science content through ELA.

Social Studies

Students will explore maps, globes, and various world cultures throughout the year during Social Studies time.  These topics will also be threaded into our ELA curriculum as well.

Specials Schedule

Lunch

Lunch is at 12:45 every day.  Students can buy or bring their lunch.

Recess

We will have recess on the upper playground this year.

 

Recess will be outdoors weather permitting.  During the winter months, student should bring full snow gear (including boots, pants, jacket, hat, gloves, etc.)

Snack &

Holiday

Parties

We will have a brief snack time during class each day.  Please send a snack in with your child to eat during snack time.

Students may also have a resealable water bottle with them throughout the day.  They can refill their bottle especially on those hot days and this will reduce the need to leave the room for drink during instructional time.

​

Holiday parties are usually planned by the classroom teachers and we may ask for volunteers to help out or send in goodies.

​

Birthdays are AWESOME! We ask that if you plan on sending in birthday treats, you give us a heads up. We usually send these treats down to the cafeteria to be enjoyed after students eat their lunches.
